We’re excited to finally share the Canada FASD Conference 2025 Program at a Glance. After months of planning, we proudly present the lineup of presenters who will take the stage this October.

This tentative program goes into detail about what you need to know for your time in Toronto.

What’s in the program?

This year’s program spans three days of rich, engaging content, organized into seven concurrent sessions featuring over 100 presentations across multiple formats. It includes sessions on the following topics:

  • Advances in FASD assessment and diagnosis
  • Legal system navigation and reform
  • Prevention and women’s health
  • Indigenous approaches and Truth and Reconciliation
  • Education and classroom strategies
  • Service innovation and policy development
  • Mental health, physical health and wellbeing
  • Identity, and lived experience
  • Caregiving and caregiver perspectives,
  • And much more!

Presentations from individuals with living experience are interwoven throughout, helping to ensure a grounded learning experience for all attendees. Full presentation descriptions and speaker bios can be found on the conference website!

Please note, all presentations, speakers, and times are tentative and subject to change. The finalized program will be released in October 2025!

First keynote announced

Furthermore, our first keynote panel has been announced! This session, entitled Navigating Self-Care and Recovery with the Pinkifying of Alcohol Marketing, addresses the factors influencing alcohol use in pregnancy. It will feature CanFASD’s very own Dr. Kelly Harding, alongside Dr.  Dawn Nickel and Dr. Ashley Wettlaufer. These panellists will explore how the alcohol industry has ‘pinkified’ products and how women have responded to these marketing tactics with their own movements that push towards low- or no-alcohol use or sobriety. They will also share empowering strategies for health promotion and self-care that support healthy pregnancies and healthy beginnings.

We are happy to have Health Nexus sponsor this plenary session.

What’s included in the price of your ticket?

Your ticket to the Canada FASD Conference 2025 includes more than just access to presentations. Attendees will enjoy:

  • Admission to all three days of conference programming, including keynote and breakout sessions
  • Access to the first Canada FASD Conference Film Festival
  • On-site meals and refreshments throughout the event including a light breakfast every day, a buffet lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, and snacks and refreshments during our Networking evening
  • Networking opportunities with researchers, service providers, caregivers, and individuals with lived experience
  • Access to special events and exhibits hosted throughout the conference

We’ve heard questions about the increase in ticket prices compared to our last conference. This year’s event is being hosted in downtown Toronto – a vibrant but costly city – which comes with higher venue and service expenses. That said, we’ve worked hard to keep registration fees as low as possible. In fact, our pricing remains significantly lower than similar national conferences, some of which charge as much as $1,200 per ticket.

Take advantage of discounts and funding!

If you haven’t registered yet, now is the perfect time. Early bird pricing ends on June 30, 2025 – less than two weeks away! Register now.

We’re pleased to offer exclusive discounts on airfare and accommodations for attendees traveling to the conference. Participating airlines include Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter Airlines, and discounted hotel rates are available at the Union Hotel, just minutes from the venue. There are also ways you can get creative with accommodation in Toronto. The city has a great transit system, which makes it easier to book less expensive accommodation outside of the downtown core.

We want this event to bring together bring a diverse group of voices. That’s why we’re offering travel awards for individuals with FASD and students, to help remove barriers to participation. Applications are open until June 30, and we strongly encourage eligible individuals to apply.

Stay connected

Want to find out more about the conference presentations? Follow the official conference Facebook and Instagram pages where we will be sharing speaker biographies and summaries of what to expect from their talks.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Toronto and shape the future of FASD together. See you in October!
