We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2023 Claudette Bradshaw FASD Innovation Award.
What is the Claudette Bradshaw FASD Innovation Award?
This award was created to recognize the work of the late Claudette Bradshaw, a past member of the CanFASD’s Board of Directors and a significant contributor to the fields of FASD, early education, and homelessness.
The award is intended for an individual, agency, or organization that has developed an innovative intervention that has made a substantial contribution to FASD in one of CanFASD’s member provinces/territories. The goal of this award is to help catalyze innovative practices for FASD across sectors and give organizations the opportunity to share their visionary practices with the broader field.
The previous recipients of this award include:
- Piruqatigiit Resource Centre, Nunavut – 2022
- The Lakeland Centre for FASD, Alberta – 2021
- The Asante Center, British Columbia – 2020
- The NB FASD Centre of Excellence, New Brunswick – 2019
Award Eligibility
The following criteria will be taken into consideration in the review of all Innovation Award Applications:
- Potential to inspire future research and attract additional funding support
- Innovation applicability to the field of FASD
- Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of those affected by FASD
- Uniqueness of the innovation
- Sustainability
- Clarity of described innovation
We are looking for innovations that focus on transitioning youth with FASD to adult supports; this may include housing, employment, parenting, and/or substance use. The innovation program/project must also involve a research or evaluative component to demonstrate the effectiveness in improving the lives of individuals with FASD, their families and communities.
