The goal of the study was to explore the use of self-regulation strategies in adolescents with FASD. To do this, researchers recruited 27 adolescents between the ages of 11-17 through local FASD clinics in Edmonton and Vancouver and used a modified version of the Alert Program to teach adolescents about self-regulation strategies.

Students with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) face a number of challenges in the education system. Teachers and school staff play an important role in ensuring students with FASD succeed in school.

Due to the recent discoveries of unmarked grave sites at former residential schools, it is more important than ever that we take action to support Indigenous communities; remember the children who were sent away and never made it home; and honour the survivors. Protecting the Rights of Children with FASD in the Justice System
Canada is obliged, by law, to follow the recommendations outlined in the Convention. GC24 clarifies the stance taken by the Convention on children with NDDs who are involved in the justice system. However, in practice, justice professionals may be unaware of these issues.

Understanding FASD and sexual behaviour
Without proper support, individuals with FASD can face a variety of difficulties. According to some caregivers, one especially concerning challenge relates to sexual behaviour. There is preliminary research to support these reports, suggesting that some individuals with FASD are at a higher risk of being involved in, and being the victim of, problematic sexual behaviour.
