This fall, we’re heading to one of the most exciting cities in North America – and we want you to join us! From October 21–23, 2025, the Canada FASD Conference will take place at the Hilton Toronto Downtown. With the theme “Shaping the Future of FASD: From Evidence to Action,” this event is more than a conference – it’s a chance to connect and collaborate. And what better place to do it than vibrant, multicultural Toronto?
A city of culture
Toronto is Canada’s largest city and one of its most diverse. More than half the population was born outside of Canada, and over 180 languages and dialects are spoken here.
Toronto sits on the traditional territory of many Indigenous nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. This land is covered by Treaty 13 and the Williams Treaties, and today, it remains home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
Where to visit
In between sessions and networking, take some time to explore the city. The conference venue is centrally located, making it easy to visit local sites including:
- The CN Tower – one of Canada’s most iconic landmarks
- St. Lawrence Market – market full of local and international flavours
- Nathan Phillips Square – home of the iconic Toronto sign and vibrant public art
- Art Gallery of Ontario – one of North America’s largest art museums
- Toronto Dominion Gallery of Inuit Art – celebrating the work of Inuit artists
- Mackenzie House and Fort York – free museums focused on Toronto’s history
- Toronto’s waterfront – perfect for a stroll with skyline and lake views

Where to stay
We’ve partnered with the Union Hotel, just a 7-minute walk from the conference venue, to offer conference attendees an 18% business travel discount. There are many high quality hotels located within a 10-minute walking distance from the conference venue but be sure to book fast to save your space!
For those with a smaller budget, consider staying just outside the downtown core in connected neighborhoods like The Junction or Greektown. Toronto has a reliable public transport system so you will be able to commute fairly quickly to the conference each morning. You might also consider a youth hostel or Airbnb if you’re looking for something in the lower price range.
What to pack
In October, Toronto’s weather is generally mild and comfortable, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 12°C to 17°C. Overall, it’s a beautiful time to visit, with fall colors beginning to show in the city’s many parks and green spaces.
Getting around
The closest airport, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, is just 15 minutes from the venue by car or 30 minutes by public transit. Toronto Pearson International Airport is also easily accessible, with express public transit options directly from the airport that take about 45 minutes to reach downtown. Conference attendees can get discounts for all major Canadian airlines.
Once you’re in the city, the public transport system will help you get around. You can also rent a bike or simply enjoy walking – Toronto is very pedestrian-friendly.
