The goal of the study was to explore the use of self-regulation strategies in adolescents with FASD. To do this, researchers recruited 27 adolescents between the ages of 11-17 through local FASD clinics in Edmonton and Vancouver and used a modified version of the Alert Program to teach adolescents about self-regulation strategies.

Disability Employment Awareness Month is a national holiday that happens annually in October. The purpose of this month is to raise awareness of the importance of disability inclusion and celebrate the contributions that people with disabilities have made to the workforce.

The complexity of FASD necessitates a human rights approach to supporting people with this disability. However, supports and services are still lacking for people with FASD and it remains a low priority in Canada for research and policies informing resources and services.

This theme encourages people to focus on the issues that increase mental health inequality worldwide and how we can help tackle this inequality.
