Lakeland Centre for FASD, in Cold Lake Alberta, believes that all children should have the opportunity to have a positive camp experience. That is why they are hosting 6, week-long camps this summer between July and August. It is the camp where children with FASD can be themselves.
The camp is open to all children in Canada, with a diagnosis of FASD. The goal is that campers will develop social skills and discover new hobbies in a fun and safe environment, through a variety of crafts and activities, including:
- Horse grooming
- Painting
- Swimming & water games
- Outdoor games
- Cultural experiences
- Nature adventures
- Arts & crafts
- Cooking
- Yoga
- Drumming
Children who wish to attend must be registered with the Lakeland Centre for FASD. Registration packages are available at www.lcfasd.com.
Camp fees are $500. Families may wish to seek assistance through Family Support for Children with Disabilities or local service clubs- LCFASD can help with this process.
Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. You can find the camp brochure here, and the camp application package here.
