The Family Advisory Committee is a group of committed parents and caregivers of individuals with FASD interested in how FASD research can improve the quality of life for individuals with FASD and their caregivers.

The Mission of the Family Advisory Committee is to:

  • Advise on research priorities for families impacted by FASD
  • Assist in translating results of research to ensure they are accessible to families

The Family Advisory Committee is neither a research body nor a provider of direct services

Why is a Family Advisory Committee necessary?

There has often been a gap between FASD researchers, service providers and those with lived experience.

Our goal is to bridge those gaps by soliciting the voices of individuals living with FASD with regard to their priorities for research and by providing the results of research to those individuals and their families in return.

The committee members were selected because of their broad range of personal and professional experience in the field of supporting individuals with FASD. They are committed to building bridges between research and individuals living with FASD so the quality of life for individuals living with FASD can be enhanced.

If you are interested in joining the Family Advisory Committee, apply online, or download and email the completed form to info@canfasd.ca. We are currently seeking representatives from the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and British Columbia.
