People with FASD, lived experience with FASD, caregivers of people with FASD and students will be able to apply for financial support to attend the Canada FASD Conference this October. These awards are funded by generous support from our conference partner – the Canada Northwest FASD Partnership – and other conference sponsors.
Individual Travel Award Details
There are limited travel awards available. These funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2025.
If you are picked to receive an award (or subsidies), you will get a certain amount of money to help you come to Toronto for the conference. The chart below outlines the maximum amount of money you could receive.

Am I eligible for an award?
In order to be eligible for an individual travel award, you must:
- Have FASD, lived experience with FASD, or care for someone with FASD (i.e. in-home or in-body experience with FASD);
- Live in Canada
- Have your tickets for the Canada FASD Conference;
- Not be attending the conference on behalf of an organization;
- Apply before June 30, 2025.
How to apply
You can apply for a travel award on the Canada FASD Conference website. The form will open on May 15, 2025. Be sure to purchase your conference ticket to be eligible to apply.
Contact conference@canfasd.ca if you need support with your application. If your application is successful, we will contact you by email with further details. Depending on interest, applications received after the deadline may still be considered.
Student Awards
Students presenting at the Canada FASD Conference may be eligible for $1000 worth of funding for registration, travel, and/or accommodation. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2025.
Am I eligible for an award?
These awards are available for a select number of students that are sharing an oral presentation, workshop or a poster at the 2025 Canada FASD Conference.
There are limited funds available. Decisions will be made with consideration for representation across Canada, and between research areas.
To be eligible for this subsidy, applicants must:
- Be registered to attend the Canada FASD Conference in October 2025;
- Be attending a post-secondary institution or employed as a post-doctoral fellow; and
- Have an abstract accepted for the 2025 Canada FASD Conference.
